About Tickus

Tickus sells tickets for events in Nigeria and checks them in at the door. The software is ours; the events are the organizers'.

Last reviewed . Tickus changes; when it does in a way this page describes, the date above changes with it.

What it does

An organizer creates an event, describes the ticket types and puts it on a public page. A buyer picks a ticket, pays, and gets a QR pass by email. At the door, staff scan that pass with a phone and each ticket is checked in exactly once.

The gate is the part the product is built around. A phone that has synced the guest list keeps checking tickets when the venue's network drops, and a queue at a venue with no signal is a queue that still moves. The public directory is where everything for sale is listed.

Who runs it

Tickus is operated by Kuriolabs Ltd, a Nigerian company. We build and run the software, the support inbox and the payment integration. We do not organize the events: each one is run by the organizer who listed it, and the terms say where that line sits.

Where it works

Nigeria. Prices are in naira (NGN), payments and payouts run on OPay’s licensed banking infrastructure, and venue addresses are looked up with OpenStreetMap. An event can name any address a venue actually has; the platform does not restrict an organizer to one city.

What it costs

Listing an event is free. There is no setup fee, no monthly fee and no charge for check-ins.

A processing fee is added to a ticket at checkout, on top of the ticket price, and it is shown as its own line on the ticket page before anything is paid. The organizer is credited the full ticket price, so the fee is never quietly taken out of an organizer’s revenue. What happens to that fee when a ticket is refunded is on refunds and cancellations.

What it does not do

  • It does not run the event. The organizer is responsible for the venue, the lineup, the doors and the safety of the people inside.
  • There is no buyer account and no app to install. A buyer has a link to a pass, not a login, which is why nothing about buying a ticket needs a sign-up.
  • It does not store card details. Payment happens on OPay’s checkout, and the card number never reaches Tickus. The privacy policy lists what is stored instead.
  • It does not resell tickets. There is no secondary market here. A ticket can be passed to somebody else only when the organizer allows it.
